Utah First Donates 1,000 Pairs of Shoes to Utah Kids

This December, Utah First joined forces with The Community Volunteers of Utah to buy shoes for children in need. Through the Warm the Soles fundraiser, and thanks to the many generous donations from community members, Utah First purchased and donated 1,000 pairs of shoes for Utah kids this year.

“It’s our goal to make a difference in the community,” said Darin Moody, CEO of Utah First. “Our priority is to put Utah first. And Warm the Soles gives us the opportunity to give back in a meaningful way.”

Each pair of donated shoes was handpicked to meet the specific needs of a young student in Utah who might have otherwise gone without shoes suitable for the harsh winter season. And on December 7, the Utah First community came together to wrap every pair, complete with a personalized holiday label for each child. It was a festive evening filled with holiday cheer and community togetherness.

“It’s inspiring to see so many people gather together to positively impact people’s lives,” Moody added. “And the fact that this fundraiser benefits so many kids in the community makes it that much more meaningful, especially during this time of year.”

The 2018 Warm the Soles fundraiser will continue through the end of the year. Utah First members are encouraged to support donation efforts to help keep little feet in Utah warm this winter. Donations can be made at any Utah First branch or via online banking.
