Introducing the Cash for College Scholarship

At Utah First, our mission is to be significant in the lives of our members. Sometimes that means helping a young family finance their first home. Sometimes it means finding the right loan to help someone get back on track with their credit. And sometimes it means rolling up our sleeves to serve the community through charitable donations and service projects. It means different things to different people, but it always involves helping.

As we thought more about how we could help you, our attention turned to our student members. We remember (some of us more recently than others) the sometimes-significant financial commitment that comes with being a student. And we want to do what we can to take some of that financial stress away. Introducing the Utah First Cash for College Scholarship—our way of helping students succeed in school, one scholarship at a time.

Starting this fall, we will award $1,000 scholarships to 25 students every quarter to help with the cost of attending college, trade school, or vocational school. There is no application process required. All you have to do is declare your eligibility and give us a small amount of information about your student status (i.e. your name and email address). It doesn’t matter if you’re attending a school here in Utah or somewhere out of state, if you’re a student and a member of Utah First, you are eligible.

So, as you prepare for another (or your first) school year, don’t forget to declare your student status. Put it on your back-to-school to-do list, right before buying books and right after registering for classes. The first 25 scholarships will be awarded this October, so don’t procrastinate—leave that for English Lit. Plus, as a way of wising you luck, we’ll deposit $10 into your account, just for declaring. That’s just enough for a late-night study snack or a quick caffeine boost to help you cram for your first exam.

Declare your status today and have an amazing school year!
