NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, or any other social network or platform. You understand you are providing your information to the Sponsor/Administrator and not to these platforms.

  1. CONTEST PERIOD.
The Utah First Music Scholarship Contest (the “Contest”) begins 12:00 a.m. Mountain Time (“MT”) on October 6, 2025 and ends 11:59 p.m. MT on April 20, 2026 (the “Contest Period”).
  2. ELIGIBILITY.
Open only to legal residents of Utah who are 16 years of age or older at the time of entry and are prospective students able and intending to enroll in the Southern Utah University (“SUU”) music program for Fall 2026 (incoming freshmen or transfer students). Current SUU music students are not eligible. Employees, officers, directors, and agents of Utah First Federal Credit Union (“Sponsor”), SUU, their affiliates, prize providers, advertising/promotion agencies, and members of their immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, children) and persons residing in the same household are not eligible. Contest is void outside Utah and where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws apply.
  3. HOW TO ENTER.
During the Contest Period, each entrant (“Applicant”) must:

    1. Create a new, live music performance video (up to 3 minutes total, with up to ~2 minutes performance and up to ~1 minute intro/bio). Start the video by saying, “This is my submission for the Utah First Music Scholarship.” Limit editing to simple cuts.
    2. Post publicly on TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. In the caption, tag @UtahFirstCreditUnion (use the platform-appropriate handle) and include both hashtags: #UtahFirstMusicScholarship and #SUUmusic.
    3. Submit the official entry form at https://utahfirst.com/music-scholarship-2025/ with a direct link to the posted video and all required information. If Applicant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent on the form.

Limit one (1) entry per person. Entries must remain public through winner announcement. Use of bots, macros, or automated systems is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Normal internet/data charges may apply.

  4. CONTENT/ENTRY GUIDELINES. Submissions must not:

    • Violate or infringe the rights of others (privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, etc.).
    • Contain obscene, indecent, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or otherwise objectionable content.
    • Violate any law or platform policy.
    • Disparage Sponsor, SUU, or any person/entity affiliated with the Contest.
    • Contain false, misleading, or inaccurate information.
    • Promote bigotry, racism, hatred, or discrimination.
    • Include third-party content (e.g., audio, video, images) without permission or legal right (including cover songs/backing tracks—Applicant is responsible for securing any necessary permissions or using content permitted by law).

Sponsor may disqualify non-compliant entries in its sole discretion.

  5. SELECTION OF FINALISTS AND WINNERS (SKILL-BASED).
This is a skill contest; no random drawings are used. By on or about April 30, 2026, a qualified judging panel designated by Sponsor will evaluate eligible entries as follows:

    • Finalists (up to 10 total):
      • Up to five (5) “fan-engagement” finalists identified based on relative public engagement signals (e.g., likes, shares, comments) within a measurement window set by Sponsor (engagement may be normalized across platforms/time; manipulated or inauthentic engagement may be disregarded).
      • Up to five (5) “talent” finalists selected by Sponsor/SUU panel for overall merit.
    • Winner & Runner-Up: The judging panel (anticipated to include SUU faculty, Utah artists/influencers, and public figures) will apply the following Judging Criteria to finalist videos:

Tone Production (0–20), Technical Ability (0–20), Expressiveness (0–20), Interpretation (0–20), Performance Presence (0–20).

Highest total score (0–100) is the potential Winner; second highest is the potential Runner-Up.
Tie-breaker: higher Interpretation score; then Technical Ability; then Performance Presence; then Sponsor’s decision.
Judges’ decisions are final. Sponsor reserves the right not to select winners if an insufficient number of eligible/qualified entries is received.
  6. PRIZES / SCHOLARSHIPS. Total scholarship value: $30,000.

    • One (1) Winner: $20,000 scholarship plus an opportunity to perform as an opener for a major Utah artist in 2026 (date/artist/venue at Sponsor’s discretion; no cash value; subject to availability, production/safety requirements, and force majeure).
    • One (1) Runner-Up: $10,000 scholarship.

Payment & Use: Scholarships are payable directly to SUU for the benefit of the recipient and applied to approved educational expenses under SUU policy (e.g., tuition, required fees, housing, books/supplies). Final award amounts and eligibility are subject to verification by SUU. Scholarships are not transferable and have no cash equivalent. Taxes (if any) are the sole responsibility of the recipients; tax forms (e.g., IRS Form 1099/W-9) may be required.

  7. PRIVACY.
Personal information collected is used to administer the Contest, verify eligibility, contact Applicants, and fulfill scholarships, subject to the Utah First Credit Union Privacy Policy ([insert link]). You may request deletion of personal data; however, deletion prior to verification/award fulfillment may result in disqualification.
  8. PUBLICITY.
Except where prohibited, by participating, Applicants grant Sponsor the right to use their name, image, likeness, voice, biographical information, and entry (in whole or part) for promotional purposes related to the Contest, in any media, worldwide, without additional compensation or notice.
  9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY; LICENSE.
Applicant retains ownership of their Submission. By entering, Applicant grants Sponsor a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, edit, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, publicly perform, and publicly display the Submission (including name/likeness/voice and any permitted third-party content included) for Contest administration, judging, publicity, and future scholarship promotion, in any media now known or later developed. Applicants represent and warrant they have all rights/permissions needed for the above grant and agree to execute confirmatory documents upon reasonable request.
  10. PLATFORMS; NO SPONSORSHIP BY THIRD PARTIES.
This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Meta, TikTok, YouTube, or any other platform. You are providing your information to Sponsor, not to these platforms. 11. REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES & INDEMNIFICATION.
Each Applicant represents and warrants that: (i) the Submission is original to Applicant or lawfully used; (ii) it does not infringe any third-party rights; (iii) it complies with these Rules and all laws/platform policies. Applicant agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sponsor, SUU, and their affiliates and representatives from any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to Applicant’s breach of these representations/warranties or the Submission.
  12. NOTIFICATION & VERIFICATION; FURTHER DOCUMENTATION.
Potential Winner and Runner-Up will be notified via email/phone/DM (using info provided in the entry form). As a condition of award, they (and a parent/guardian if a minor) may be required to execute and return, within the time stated in the notification: an Affidavit/Declaration of Eligibility, Liability/Publicity Release, IP License Confirmation, tax forms, and SUU acceptance/enrollment verification. If a potential recipient cannot be contacted, fails to respond/complete documents by the deadline, is ineligible, or fails verification, the scholarship may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate finalist per the tie-break hierarchy.
  13. NO OBLIGATION TO USE.
Sponsor has no obligation to use, post, or otherwise exploit any Submission or to continue any related promotional activities. Failure to use a Submission will not entitle Applicant to any compensation or relief.
  14. GENERAL RELEASE & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY.
By participating, Applicants release and hold harmless Sponsor, SUU, prize providers, their parents/affiliates/subsidiaries, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from any claims, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Contest, platform or technical issues, or acceptance/receipt/use of any scholarship or performance opportunity. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, garbled, or incomplete entries; network/server/ISP/website or platform outages; computer/device failures; or any human, technical, or printing errors.
  15. SPONSOR’S RIGHT TO MODIFY, SUSPEND, OR TERMINATE.
If fraud, technical failures, force majeure, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest and, if feasible, proceed with judging from among eligible, unaffected entries received up to the time of action taken.
  16. GENERAL PROVISIONS.
Sponsor may disqualify any individual found tampering with the entry/judging process, acting in violation of these Rules or platform terms, submitting false information, or acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. In the event of a dispute as to an entry, the authorized account holder of the email address used on the entry form will be deemed the entrant.
